Jan 2007 Voted the Most Polular Female Chinese Idol, 2006 has been a wonderful year to Liu Yifei.



April 2007 Liu Yifei has signed with William Morris Agency, one of the top three American agencies, becoming the second Chinese actress, after Zhang Ziyi, to sign with this company. whose clients includes Jackie Chan, Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, Macaulay Culkin, Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone, Halle Berry, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lucy Liu, Brendan Fraser and acclaimed director Ridley Scott among others.

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi had signed with the agency in 2005 and soon obtained a lead role in the movie "The Memoir of a Geisha". The first big present the agency gave Liu Yifei was the coveted lead role of "Golden Sparrow" in the movie "The Forbidden Kingdom", the eagerly-awaited collaboration between two Kung Fu Kings, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Other main actors are Michael Angarano of "Sky High" fame and Chinese actress Li Bing Bing (李冰冰).





May 2007 The shooting of the most eagerly anticipated martial art movie in history begins. The Forbidden Kingdom is a US$100 million Hollywood production funded by Lions Gate Entertainment and The Weinstein Company. It is a film collaboration between three martial arts legends - Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Yuen Woo Ping. Hollywood director Rob Minkoff will be directing this film while, Yuen Woo Ping, will handle the action choreography.

Yifei met the director and all the main actors to practise the scripts tpgether in Dunhuang . The shooting took place in the Gobi Desert and Yumenguan which is about 90km northwest of Dunhuang city. In ancient times, Yumenguan was the most important pass of the north route on the Silk Road, So, other than great action in this movie, we should expect an excellent breathtaking cinematography. The cinematographer of this movie is none other than Peter Pau. He is the top cinematopgrapher in Hong Kong and has won numerous awards and nominations, including an Oscar in 2001 for "Crouching Tiger & Hidden Dragon."

The Mummy 3:: Curse Of The Dragon is a sequel to The Mummy, and The Mummy Returns, but this time it takes place in China. Stephen Sommers who directed the previous Mummies will not be directing this time as Rob Cohen will be taking his place.

Actor Brendan Fraser will reprise his role as Rick O"Connell, but sadly, Rachel Weisz will not be reprising her role as Evelyn because she has other commitment. Maria Bellow will be taking her place. Australian actor Luke Ford is Alex O"Connell, the son of Rick and Evelyn.

The casting began in February this year, and in March, actor Jet Li and actress Michelle Yeoh were approached.

Jet Li will play the villain (Emperor Han) in this movie. Michelle Yeoh will be the wizard Zijuan.

Now, the good news is that Liu Yifei is rumoured to star in The Mummy 3.

The bad news is the filming will begin in Montreal, Canada on 27th of July this year. The schedule will definitely clash with The Forbidden Kingdom. The filming in China will begin in August. So, the schedule is too tight for Liu Yifei.

The good news is Jet Li is also the main actor in The Forbidden Kingdom. So, even though the schedule is a bit tight for Yifei, let us hope that Universal Studios is wise enough to cast her, because Yifei is currently one of the big names in East Asia.

Release date July 11, 2008.


Keep your fingers crossed and pray hard that Universal Pictures will cast Liu Yifei no matter what.

นอกนั้นเธอก็ใช้ชีวิตประจำวันของเธอตามปกติ มีพาแม่ไปดูละครเวทีบ้าง ออกรายการโชว์ตัวบ้าง ไม่ได้มีอะไรที่เป็นประเด็นข่าวที่สำคัญอะไรเป็นพิเศษ ส่วน ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง มัมมี่3 จนถึงเวลานี้เธอก็ยังไม่ได้ตกลงรับเล่นแต่อย่างใด อีกอย่างบทนี้ก็เป็นแค่บทสมทบไม่ได้เด่นอะไรมากมาย มีความเป็นไปได้ว่า มีโอกาสที่เธอจะไม่รับเล่น และถึงแม้ว่าเธอจะรับเล่นก็ต้อง ไป แคสหน้ากล้องกับทางฮอลลิวู๊ด ก่อนว่าผ่านหรือไม่ผ่าน และอีกอย่างจบ การถ่ายทำเรื่อง Forbidden Kingdom แล้ว เธอก็มีคิวถ่ายภาพยนตร์ต่อในเรื่อง Butterfly Lover หรือ ม่านประเพณ๊ โดย แสดงคู่กับ กู่เทียนเล่อ จึงไม่จำเป็นต้องรีบรับงานแต่อย่างใด
